MESSIAH'S CHILDREN RESCUE AND LIFE CENTERThe Messiah's Children Rescue and Life Center began more than a decade ago, as the dream of one young man who's sole desire was to help lift his fellow Kenyans out of hopelessness and despair.
Pastor Patrick Kimaiyo began this noble work in his home town, Moi's Bridge, halfway between Kitale and Eldoret in the Great Rift Valley of western Kenya. Currently, the orphanage provides shelter, food, clothing, education, and some medical attention to more than 200 children, and provides food assistance to a handful of local senior citizens. More than half of the children are AIDS orphans, who would otherwise have no one to care for them. Author Drew Harmon has worked with Pastor Kimaiyo since 2004 to raise the funding and seek out the resources necessary to fulfill this ongoing work. Trespass Island Books will donate 10% of royalties from the sale of Uncle Arctica to the Messiah's Children Rescue and Life Center. |
