The rigidly-sheltered, twelve-year-old Blake must adjust to the unorthodox lifestyle of his slacker uncle, and the touchy temper of a cantankerous old Scotsman; all while learning to deal with the outlandish, and frequently dangerous inhabitants of Highland Creek Reservoir (including an independent young kayaker who may or may not be his girlfriend.)

This can definitely be ranked among my favorite books! I found Blake's trials disturbing and heart-wrenching... I was totally consumed in Blake's world ... What will I read tomorrow?  Drew Harmon now ranks among my favorite authors... with this outstanding book!

This is one of the most engaging books I have read in years! Full of adventure, comedy, romance, suspense, and everything in between. From the time I picked up the book, I could NOT put it down, and lost a lot of sleep over the last few days engrossed in the escapades of Blake Barber and his motley crew of misfits...
